Final Thoughts On Marketing Your Landscape Business.

We have not received one direct mail sales letter or even a flyer on our doorstep from a landscaper. The best that anyone has ever come up with in my neighborhood, which is a very desirable area to live and has many homes with large yards, is a business card. Or, a few times a year someone who can barely speak English knocks on our door and asks it they can trim our trees.

Oh, one guy drove up on his dirty moped, all sweaty, and asked if he could Aerate our lawn for a fee. All of these marketing techniques are not very professional.

What do I know about the landscape business? I used to be a landscaper myself. I used to get up to work at 7am and drive a big truck with my partner and do maintenance on large yards. It was hard work and the guy I worked for did nothing but play guitar while we worked our tails off.

Last important tips: Send more than one letter. Follow up and refer to the first and second letters and remind them that the deadline for a free audit or consultation is going to expire. Sell the consultation. Explain why it’s important and different than other consultations they will get. Perhaps you draw up a special report just for their property and go over it with them, and that they can keep it. Be unique.
