Sometimes all you need is a simple window cleaning sales letter to target potential commercial and residential customers to generate new business. Simply get yourself a well researched list and send your letter.
A week or two after you send the first letter send a second follow up letter.
Include your business card or a refrigerator magnet (because this will make your envelope ‘lumpy’ and is a proven technique to boost response). See, a lumpy envelope creates curiosity and gets people who normally just sort these letters over the trash will be more likely to open it.
You don’t have to use a magnet. You can use hundreds of other items like pens, flashlights, bottle openers, even custom imprinted candy! Be creative.
Also, when you include a promotional product like a pen or something it gives you something to talk about it in the second follow up letter; “A couple of weeks ago I sent you a letter with a pen in it, do you remember? Well, I didn’t hear from you so I thought I would try to reach you again (Name). Anyway…” Something like that.
