My Dad had a massive stroke 14 years ago which left his entire right side paralyzed. He is be ridden and gets up in a chair with the help of a hoyer lift once every three weeks if we are lucky.
My mother cared for him all by herself for 5 years, and then she was too frail to care for him on her own so we hired care takers for the next 8 years. It was a massive amount of work and stress for the entire family, and my mother endured the burden. It’s a long story that is very sad because my mother unexpectedly passed away.
