Free Recorded Message and 24 Hour Voicemail Marketing

Funny thing about free recorded message marketing is that most people think that it’s dead. And that’s exactly why you should do it and include it in your marketing. At least test it.

Side Bar: Most people think that since there is such a mass exodus from direct mail to the internet and mobile phone marketing (apps and mobile websites) that they should not use direct mail. But that is, again, exactly why you should use it. Most businesses are not, and if they are they are not doing it well.

What To Put On Your 24 Hour Voicemail Message:

Here’s a few samples messages you  can test on your voicemail greeting (see below for even better ideas):

“Hi, my name is John Smith and I’m the editor of Maximum Wealth! At the end of this brief  message you can leave your name and address to get a FREE (6) 12-month subscription to Maximum Wealth.

My newsletter is dedicated to giving you innovative, proven strategies and techniques that will save you hundreds and thousands of dollars in needless taxes and financial expenses.

That’s because Maximum Wealth In Minimum Time is completely unique. I don’t waste your time with the same run-of-the-mill rehash you see in so many other newsletters. Instead, I go beyond the obvious to give you real information you can use to boost your wealth.

For a limited time, I’m giving away a free (6)12-month subscription to Maximum Wealth! You see, I figure after your free subscription expires, there’s a strong chance you’ll become a paid subscriber or new client. But then again, you may not. And that’s perfectly O.K. You’re under no obligation whatsoever to do any further business with me.

To start your free six-month subscription just leave your name, company name if applicable, and address and I’ll rush your first issue to you. Please speak very slowly and spell any difficult names. Thank you.”

Or, try test a short message like this:

“Thanks for calling for your free (6) 12- month subscription to Maximum Wealth!

My name is John Smith and I am the author of Maximum Wealth.

Maximum Wealth is loaded with tips and secrets that will help you save a significant amount of money on your taxes and other needless financial expenses you overpay each year.

To start your free (6) 12-month subscription just leave your name, company name if applicable, and address and I’ll rush your first issue to you. Please speak very slowly and spell any difficult names. Thank you.”

Here’s one more:

“Thanks for calling for your free (6) 12- month subscription to Maximum Wealth!

To start your free (6) 12-month subscription just leave your name, company name if applicable, and address and I’ll rush your first issue to you. Please speak very slowly and spell any difficult names. Thank you.

If you want to get them to leave their phone number, just say:

…To start your free (6) 12-month subscription just leave your name, company name if applicable, and address and I’ll rush your first issue to you. Please speak very slowly and spell any difficult names. Also, leave your phone number in case we need to verify your address. Thank you.”

These examples are purely examples…

However, there are other ways to use your Free recorded message or voicemail greeting to generate business.

One of my favorite methods is to create a Consumer Hotline, or Informational Message. Basically, you will be providing your prospect with quality information and tips in the recorded message, and then ask them to leave their contact information so you can send them even more good stuff.

I personally think this is the best use of a recorded message these days, but it all depends on your market. So test it.

Here’s what I would do:

If I was a contractor I would create two or three reports on various subjects. Maybe:

10 Ways To Increase The Value Of Your Home By 10% Or More For $2500 or Less!

Sell Your Home Fast: 10 Easy Ways To Stage Your Home For Free!

How To Choose A Contractor And Never Get Ripped Off Again!

Then, I would take those written reports and create a consumer message or free recorded message out of them. But I would only give them one or two tips and ask them to either leave their name and address.

I would then follow up on these leads until they buy from me 🙂

What About My Website?

You might be thinking, ‘What about suggesting they go to my website or Facebook Fan Page?’ And that is a good idea. So what you can do is suggest they go to your site to your free video newsletter, report, guide, or whatever you can offer that will get your prospect to go directly to your site after they get off the phone. Test it.
